Letter from MDAdvantage® Chairman and CEO Patricia A. Costante
Welcome to the first issue of 2022. Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, healthcare workers were facing elevated rates of burnout, depression, anxiety and suicide. Now, more than ever, we must support the well-being of our healthcare workforce. As we begin to emerge from the pandemic, we need to pay attention to ensuring adequate work force and seeking out strategies to mitigate the impact felt by the entire healthcare community. This will be an important topic for the foreseeable future, along with many other emerging issues, including health equity, population health, vaccinations, mental health, telemedicine, payer reimbursement and legislative issues. We explore many of these topics in this issue and will continue to cover these and additional topics throughout the coming year.
This year, it seems all the more pertinent to acknowledge the accomplishments of our healthcare leaders and to support our rising stars in healthcare. We look forward to returning to an in-person black-tie event this year, which will be held on May 4th. I invite all of you to participate in the 2022 awards program in support of our latest slate of nine scholarship students.
