Paul W. Armstrong, MA, JD, LLM, is currently of counsel at Kern Augustine Conroy & Schoppmann, P.C. Judge Armstrong previously served for 15 years as a New Jersey Superior Court Judge in Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren Counties in the Civil, Criminal and Family Divisions. Judge Armstrong presided over many notable trials, including the case of State of New Jersey v. Charles Cullen, an infamous serial killer nurse who admitted to murdering hundreds of patients. Judge Armstrong served as Chairman of the statewide committee of drug court judges and was instrumental in the development of the drug court in both Somerset and Hunterdon Counties.

As an attorney, Armstrong successfully argued the right-to-die case of Karen Ann Quinlan, a decision of the New Jersey Supreme Court that revolutionized hospice care. He also argued another landmark case—that of car crash victim Nancy Beth Cruzan, before the U.S. Supreme Court—in which the right to die was recognized as protected by the Constitution.
