RISK MANAGEMENT - Education Programs
New Jersey Clinicolegal Correspondence Course
The Clinicolegal Correspondence Course illustrates the basic concepts in the relationship of law to medicine for today's practicing physician. Each section of the course presents a succinct statement of the law as derived from New Jersey case law, New Jersey statutes and other resources. Many of the case studies and test questions are based on actual New Jersey cases. After presenting instructional material, examples are presented to demonstrate how the legal theory discussed was applied in an actual case.
The goals of the course are to:
- provide physicians with a basic understanding of the legal process,
- introduce risk management strategies that may be incorporated into your day-to-day practice, and
- demonstrate how these preventive strategies can improve patient care and minimize the risk of medical malpractice.
